  Implemented geographic information systems (GIS) capabilities within NOAA’s marine protected areas and Pacific Island coastal zone management programs. This included researching spatial data, defining hardware and software requirements, creating staffing and training plans, and evaluating candidates for a GIS assistantship program. Served as a primary developer of one-page project descriptions for outreach and presentation materials. Developed content and designed over 50 presentations for management for a variety of conferences and meetings. Worked at National Ocean Service (NOS) headquarters with a cross-program team to create a Web-based data portal to provide access to NOS data layers including shoreline, marine boundaries, tides, and nautical charting. Instituted a NOAA-wide GIS training program at NOAA's Silver Spring Campus, which included coordinating upgrade of the training lab, conducting registration, and providing technical support during courses. Fostered the GIS community at NOAA's Silver Spring Campus by organizing a seminar series for spatial data professionals and representing NOS as a liaison on interagency teams for federal geospatial initiatives.
