This is a 2800 head breed to wean sow farm. Two different departments (breeding and farrowing). Breeding department consisted of artificially inseminating sows that were of breeding age, administer vaccines, checking sows with ultrasound equipment for pregnancy, making sure sows and boars have adequate food and water, treating any animal that may need to be treated, paying close attention to detail, and teamwork. Farrowing department consisted of checking on the welfare of sows and piglets, making sure piglets were nursing good and sows had adequate food and water, treating any sows that needed to be treated, tail docking and castrating piglets and administering vaccines when at the appropriate age, paying attention to detail, teamwork, power washing, ordering supplies, being aware of biosecurity concerns.
