  - I work very closely with a board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA) to provide support for a diverse population of elementary-aged students who have a wide variety of special needs-My current position allows me to develop deep connections with students by providing me the opportunity to work either 1:1 or in small educational intervention groups with several students using the ACE and DIBELS programs-Based on the individualized educational plan (IEP) of each unique student, I am responsible for assisting children with direct care, hand over hand assistance with various tasks, activities of daily living skills (ADLs), the implementation of child-specific behavior plans, assessments, testing, planning/teaching educational lessons according to the Colorado Common Core Standards, accompanying children on field trips out in the community, assisting children during adaptive physical education, helping children learn how to communicate using American Sign Language (ASL), Spanish, or augmentative communication devices-Beyond the educational curriculum, I help students master during the school year, I am honored to be in a position where I am able to nurture children as they learn to develop the social-emotional skills needed for lifelong wellness using the social thinking curriculum
