Leading this department, mandated to investigate all applications (inclusive of feasibility studies, due diligence, business entity disclosures, financial and personal backgrounds, commercial contracts, etc.) for requisite licences with the aim of making informed recommendations to the Chief Executive Officer and/or the Board to either approve or refuse a specific licence application, is no easy feat. Navigating departmental operations in reaching set targets under strict deadlines, whilst being mindful of resource challenges, people management and the litigious nature of stakeholders, is merely part of the day to day experience. Proactively striving towards procedural and system improvements in order to remain current, in line with best practice and responsiveness to the needs of all stakeholders involved.
