  I was seconded from what was to be my final role in direct service delivery to a position which allowed me to share my skills in supporting quality service delivery through monitoring and compliance. I joined the Department in the months prior to the launch of the new National Legislation and Quality Standards. Core focus areas included: - Compliance management - Stakeholder engagement - Service Delivery Support and opportunities for improvement identification. In this role, I learned to assess new service approvals, and monitor existing services for compliance with legislation. Additionally, I was trained in conducting Rating and Assessment processes for services, against the National Quality Standards. During my tenure, I was able to conduct these processes against all of the in-scope service types. It was through completing these processes that I was able to positively influence program delivery across a range of services in the Metropolitan Region. Whilst working in this role, I completed my Master's in Project Management, which formalised my Quality and Compliance skills and led to my current role at Endeavour Foundation. The Office for Early Childhood Education and Care is responsible for regulating and assessing early childhood education and care services in Queensland. Show less

  This role honed my skills in innovative service delivery. As an Occasional Care Service, this style of program delivery presented unique opportunity for staff to develop the skills to engage with children and families in a meaningful way, in a very short timeframe.Managing this style of service presented constant variety and challenge. Not two days were the same. As an out-of-scope service type, and unable to participate in any formalised quality assurance process, the challenge in managing this service was always ensuring the staff's knowledge and skills remained current to deliver a program that met quality standards - with no formally recognised point of measure.Core focus areas included:- Service delivery management- Program management- stakeholder engagement- staff development It was in this role that I was awarded an Excellence in Service Delivery merit by my organisation to recognise the range and quality of work I had provided to the organisation.Meeting the challenges presented to me here assisted me to complete my next role.   This role was created to assist the organisation to prepare for the forthcoming shift to National Legislation and National Quality Standards for the Early Childhood Sector. The industry had to begin to prepare for major change through a sector-wide shift from prescriptive, regulation-based service delivery to Framework-based education and care methodology. The shift to National Legislation and Quality Standards was a natural progression for the sector.Core focus areas included:- Compliance management- Quality management This role exposed me not only to processes which piqued my interest in Quality & Compliance, but also helped me meet the challenge of providing quality standards based service delivery, with only knowledge, ethics and beliefs about good practice as a guide. Had the Service not been supported under the umbrella of a larger organisation, this challenge would have been much greater.Established in 1930, Churches of Christ Care is one of Australia’s largest and most diverse not-for-profit organisations in Australia, operating more than 150 services throughout Queensland and in Melbourne, Victoria with the support of over 3,200 staff and 1,200 volunteers. In this role I managed my own hours and work schedules to accommodate not only the needs of my organisation but also those of my young family.The experiences this role afforded me exposed me to the intricacies of different styles of Service Delivery across long day care, family day care, occasional care, and supported playgroups.
