Being a GIS tech in local government enabled me to work with multiple departments, organizations, and the general public. While maintaining and providing data was a large part of this position, I also performed SDE administration, updating versions and enabling the rest of the GIS team to work effectively. I was able to complete the launch of a new interactive mapping system for the RDCK.

While taking my advanced diploma in GIS, I was able to help fellow students by tutoring them in GIS classes. This was a part time job, where I was able to use my time management skills. I also learned a great deal about teaching others, and continue to use these skills in my career.
