My role at Smiths was to be a point of contact for all of our customers on inbound calls and occasionally outbound calls when requested by a customer from across the whole of the North East, Stockport, Warrington and Liverpool. I was part of a team of around 30 other members of staff working individually on each customer. My role was to listen to the customers' needs and change orders depending on their sales and requests. I also solved queries any customer had regarding bill charges, refunds, claims and many others, taking around 200 to 350 phone calls per day. At Smiths News I was also a partner of the admin team, helping 6 other members of staff on various administrative roles such as crediting customer, charging customers, reviewing their invoice and checking totals, checking that no extra credits were given and checking that the customers that were known to try and get extra credit weren’t given it if they were falsifying data. At my time at Next (Eldon Square) I was part of a large team on the women’s wear floor. Thought the day I would be in one of three positions. The first position was to be the face of the store, greeting customers as they came into the store and offering customers help if they needed assistance, in this position I also made sure that the shop floor was tidy, clothes were in the correct size orders and stocked up. Position two was in the women’s changing room, this post was to log everything the customers took into the changing room and log it back out, give customers advice if they asked for it and keep a tidy changing room. The final position was behind the tills, this was making sure customers were happy with everything and speaking to the customer in a friendly professional manner. Also packing customers purchased correctly and neatly. Show less
