  As captain of my Girls High School Ice Hockey Team, it was my responsibility to lead and support the team with a positive attitude during workouts and practice. I communicated with other athletes, coaches, and officials in a professional and positive manner to create a peaceful environment. I used my ability to recognize strengths and weaknesses within myself and others and identify how to help grow and improve moving forward. Being captain taught me the importance of being welcoming, supportive, uplifting, motivating, encouraging, and kind. During my time playing, I was awarded the Hobey Baker Award which recognizes exemplary character and sportsmanship. I was also awarded the Marci Bydlon Memorial Award, which recognizes strength, passion, attitude, desire, and tenacity for the game of hockey. Show less

  As vice president of Student Council, it was my responsibility to create a harmonious relationship between faculty, students, and the administration. I oversaw the marketing, social media, and event planning committees for our high school. I helped to plan, budget and set up all of our school events. Examples of events I helped plan are prom, homecoming, a drive-in movie theater, spirit week events, pep rallies, sporting events, fundraisers, and many other fun events and activities. I learned how to manage time, money, and resources efficiently. Fnally, I participated in the interview process for a new athletic director by reading applications, interviewing, and asking insightful questions. Show less
