Writing Coach
-
Aug 2020 - May 2022
As a Writing Coach at UNC's Writing and Learning Center, I aimed to empower students to grow as independent, confident writers. In this position, I met one-on-one with undergraduate students, taking a conversational approach to drafting and revision that put the writer in the driver's seat of their own process.

In this role I generated transcripts and research materials for existing oral histories, with a specific focus on histories centering on social justice in North Carolina. In my role, I formulated cohesive transcripts for researchers by interpreting non-verbal cues and verbal cadences so that they appear in written form. Additionally, I created abstracts that summarized those transcripts, giving future researchers a clearer picture of the oral history’s content.
