Technical & Compliance Nutritionist
-
May 2020 - Sep 2021
As Technical & Compliance Nutritionist I manage our recipes to ensure they are accurate and meeting internal and external nutrition targets, such as Public Health England sugar reduction targets. I also work on our Sustainability initiative and am the project lead on our Nutrition & Sustainability initiative which I introduced into all of our sites. I really enjoy working on recipe development and sustainability within this role as they are personal priorities of mine too.

Medical Diets Nutritionist
-
Aug 2018 - May 2020
This role involved managing a portfolio of medical diet children and creating them safe menus so they could eat at school. I regularly engage with our catering teams and train them on how to practice at their best and be compliant to our Policy. I enjoyed visiting schools to educate young people and empower them to lead their best lives through food and nutrition.

Weekly I would hold nutrition and lifestyle workshops to children who had been referred to Alive 'n' Kicking by their GPs due to being overweight or obese. Seeing the families' knowledge, understanding and interest in nutrition, cooking and exercise improve weekly was hugely rewarding. I shadowed a number of roles in new product development including; microbiology, marketing, financing, packaging design and trials in the trials kitchen as well as on a large scale in the factory itself. This is when I first learnt I had an interest in the food industry.
