Program Coordinator & Policy Management

Envision: You seeks to close gaps in behavioral health outcomes for LGBTQ+ individuals through co-created community programming, advocacy engagement, public awareness campaigns, and evidence-based training. As a Program Coordinator, my work focused on the LGBTQ+ Behavioral Health Provider Training Program (BHPTP). In an effort to close gaps in behavioral healthcare and reduce experiences of minority stress, the BHPTP gives mental health providers the tools and education to provide affirming, culturally relevant care to all identities that may intersect with those in the LGBTQ+ community. I served as Program Lead for the Technology and Innovation initiative, producing bi-weekly articles and bulletins for staff engagement, feedback, and discussion around topics of racial justice, health equity, personal growth, interpersonal relationships, mental health, and other issues impacting intersectional LGBTQ+ communities. I also lead efforts for the Public Policy and Social Advocacy team which involved working with the lobbying team at Brandeberry-McKenna Public Affairs to identify current legislation that impacts LGBTQ+ Coloradans, advocating for specific policy protections through public statements and written testimony, and involvement in community dialogue around policy impacts. Rainbow Dome is where art meets roller skating and community-building. As part of the pop-up staff for the Oh My Stars! Zodiac Skate Parties, I worked a variety of roles from checking in skaters and ensuring liability waivers are signed, completing requests at skate rental, ensuring skater safety on the floor, selling merchandise, and addressing guest access needs. This position served as my second year field placement for my Masters in Social Work degree. Responsibilities included working under the Health Equity director, co-facilitating Bring Your Pronouns to Work trainings, collaboration with the Youth and Community Engagement Manager on GSA Leadership Council meetings and events, tabling at community events, and working closely with researchers and app developers at The University of Colorado Anschutz campus.
