Meg is not only a dynamic colleague, but a ridiculously pleasant person to work with. It's a pleasure to have had her on my team. She is highly reliable, has exceptional organisational skills and is a high performer. Her contributions and support are invaluable. I expect her to continue to excel in her field, as anyone would be lucky to have her on their team!

During my final year I was selected from my cohort to represent the Department on Open and UCAS days carrying out facility tours and sharing my experience and advice with prospective students. I helped to manage the Food Science instagram page @foodscienceuor uploading updates of NPD projects and events within the department. I spent my third year of university on a technical placement working for the creators of Nakd and Trek. During this time, I was given incredible opportunities and plenty of responsibility. It was interesting to discover how much of my degree course relates so specifically to the Food Industry and I was given responsibility for compiling and analysing complaints data to be shared with manufacturers to implement CAPAs as well as undertaking supplier and co-manufacturer audits. I was in charge of the development and implementation of a quality assurance procedure for picking and dispatching orders in the head office warehouse. I assisted the Technical Manager on supplier and co-manufacturing sites frequently auditing them to BRC standards. I was given ownership of updating and creating new product specifications; this involved a great deal of communication with other departments and specification technologists at our manufacturing sites. I was involved in regularly sending finished product samples off for testing then analysing/reporting on the results. Show less
