In my current roles as innovative professor; social entrepreneur building sustainable models for low income groups in East Africa, I am able to marry two passions: Social Entrepreneurship and Teaching the current and future generation of entrepreneurs. Our Intellectual Property Business model brings life-giving trade models to hundreds of thousands via intervention in the supply chain and use of their valuable IP, much as a western business have done. Of particular joy is working with the 2 million strong Maasai tribe of Kenya/ Tanzania, holding a most valued IP assets used by nearly 1,000 companies. In teaching, I have a broad range, having taught MBA/ MPA/ Undergraduates in the People side of management: Leadership; Organizational Behavior; Ethics; Group and Team work. And, on the Project and internship basis - enabling students to. put concepts into practice, predominantly in the DC region. My second passion is social entrepreneurship in which I have worked since 2008 with Ashoka Fellows. Our work has brought sustainable income to Ethiopian coffee farmers at $100million. My teaching is interactive; pragmatic and real. I have authored 5 books ranging from power and getting things done, overcoming failures to arts management and IP for development, by Routledge Press. Hoping to live to be 100+ to continue the work in the fields of real life; empowering students; and bringing sustainable change. Thank you for reading about me:) Show less
