SAFE Orthodontics’ three-term online diploma program teaches the general dentist how to use clear aligner therapy as a highly effective tool in aesthetic dentistry. After developing several concentrated programs focused on aligner therapy, I was approached by the City of London Dental School to create a comprehensive, in-depth, 18-month post-graduate program solely focused on clear aligner therapy. A collaboration between the dental school and SAFE Ortho, it is the first recognized post-graduate diploma in Clear Aligner Therapy in the world. The course teaches the general dentist how to use clear aligner therapy as a tool in aesthetic dentistry, and to maximize results predictably whilst mitigating risk. This unique, part-time program accesses the faculty, training mentorship and support available through my other company, Aligner Consulting. What I find so distinctive about this program is a clinical approach that translates across industries. As the frontrunner in program development for this exciting technology, I created the six-month program dedicated to Invisalign’s methodology. Since our inception in 2014, Align Consulting has had the contract to train dentists in Invisalign therapy across all of Europe. As representatives of the industry’s highest standards in dentistry, our experts train between 3,000 and 5,000 dentists a year through our Aligner Global Community (AGC) Academy, a full-scale, structured, on-demand e-Learning platform.

Align Technology is dedicated to transforming lives by improving the journey to a healthy, beautiful smile. Align contracted me in 2010 to train dentists in the UK in their technology. The role expanded to training dental professionals across Europe in effectively delivering the tools and treatment options to help these professionals achieve the clinical results they and their clients expect. Early on in this process, I learned that all dentists asked the same questions. Incorporating answers to those questions into the program’s foundation allowed me to develop relevant curricula for a six-month-long program that not only trains them in this exceptional technology but also addresses their concerns as professionals. I guess you could say this personalized approach earned me my stripes with the company and enabled us to grow an active community of over 10,000 doctors trained in Align therapy. The Invisalign® system is prescribed to patients through Invisalign-trained orthodontists or general practitioner (GP) dentists. I helped to developed the six month on-boarding course that Invisalign offers for dental practitioners who want to integrate this clear aligner digital system into their practices.

A qualified dentist since 1998, I opened my private practice in 2008. After becoming a qualified orthodontist in 2007, I shifted the focus of my practice to restorative and orthodontic work, specifically for adults. By working alongside periodontists, implantologists and other specialists, this interdisciplinary approach provided patients the most individualized, comprehensive solutions for their dental needs. An educator to my core, I sold the practice in 2015 to pursue development of broader-based initiatives that could reach the largest possible number of dental professionals and positively impact even more lives.
