Intern: Land Surveying
-
May 2014 - Aug 2015
- Surveying Equipment – Along with the professional land surveyor’s in Facilities Management we used the Trimble R10 unit to take GPS data points of new and existing features and utilities. Using the Trimble R10 unit in conjunction with the Trimble TX5 scanner I was able to gather scans with a high point density to accurately depict parts of the campus.- Software – Worked with AutoCAD, Trimble Business Center, and ArcGIS to update the University of Utah’s utility campus information based off of surveyed data points. AutoCAD was also implemented to plot boundary descriptions along with various plot descriptions to identify boundaries of different land parcels. Additionally, I used Faro’s Scene to manipulate 3D scan points to create surfaces of various portions of the campus.- Utility Identification – Before construction work begins on campus I needed to provide digging permits with AutoCAD utility location drawings to the contractors. I also then needed to locate and mark the utilities. Show less

Transportation TA

Jan 2015 - Apr 2015
- Communication – Effectively communicated engineering concepts aiding students in their learning. Relayed information, both statistically and verbally, to the professor allowing him to clarify difficult concepts.- Time Management – With set work, office, and class hours I adjusted my time to allow the grading of assignments to be completed in a timely manner.- Independent Work – As a teacher’s aid, I did not have a set schedule or deadline and therefore needed to be a self-starter to ensure that the work was accurately and quickly completed. Server
-
Aug 2010 - Aug 2014
- Server – As a server in a small diner I was the hostess, server, cashier, and busser. I assisted patrons with dining choices and ensured their satisfaction. - Group & Independent Work – During the weeknights, I was the only waitress on staff. Because of this I learned how to work efficiently and quickly ensuring that our customers were satisfied the entire time. On the weekends I worked with another server, but the restaurant was also very busy. Therefore, the two of us worked together, along with the kitchen staff, in a systematic fashion to allow the diner to run smoothly. Show less
