Despite not working with Manuel in the very same team, I was benefiting from his work. Apart from direct contributions to source code and the product, Manuel creates a nice aura, that affects people nearby. This was seen by me as showing examples of awesome work organisation, focusing on the important things (while skipping the hype), bringing proper order to the workflow, relying on the data. This, along with Manuel's very nice character, makes him a person you, and people around you, would like to work with and learn a lot from.

    • Sr Software Engineer - Engineering Productivity (Observability)
      • May 2019 - Aug 2022

I'm assisting the Observability team in having a holistic vision of the Quality of the Software we build, from requirements to deployment. As in my past roles, I'm defining how the Quality Assistance team works, trying to merge the QA process into the Development process, so they both would be almost indistinguishable. Besides that, I participate in the AQA team (Automation & Quality Assistance), using automation as a key driver to success. About tools, languages and frameworks in a regular day, I use Jenkins, Golang, Cucumber, Cypress, Bash, Ansible, Terraform, Docker, to name a few. Distributed communications are also important in the company, so we try to excel when communicating in asynchronous manner (GitHub issues, PRs, Slack). Show less

I supported development teams in having a continuous integration & delivery culture through a proper state-of-the-art of the Development process, which will enable them to move code the fastest from their local computers to production, be it metal or in the cloud. To facilitate that, I used virtualization and automation tools like Docker, Ansible, Jenkins, TravisCI and so on, to make development teams life easy.In terms of testing, I try to keep all projects in a green state, supporting teams in fixing the bugs, addressing root causes of problems found on CI time. I'm defining how this QA team works, trying to merge the QA process into the Development process, so they both would be almost indistinguishable.Besides that, I participate in the development of the platform, using Java, NodeJS, Golang and Shell script as languages, and Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Travis, and Docker as tooling. I worked for WeDeploy, a cloud product of Liferay Inc, where I helped to develop a continuous integration & delivery culture through a proper state-of-the-art of the Development process, which enabled teams to move code the fastest from their local computers to production, be it metal or in the cloud. To facilitate that, I used virtualization and automation tools like Docker, Ansible, Jenkins, TravisCI and so on, to make development teams life easy.Besides that, I participate in the development of the platform, using Java, NodeJS, Golang and Shell script as languages, and Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Travis, Docker, Docker Swarm as tooling. As part of Liferay Inc., I helped the company to create a containerised ecosystem for the products, packaging the official Docker images, and creating tools for consuming them, like LPN, a CLI written in #Golang to manage the docker images in a simply manner.
