      **Update the Pile Design by CPT Software to Incorporate Newly Developed Pile-CPT Methods and Other Design Features. An initial application of CPT results is to evaluate soil type and soil stratigraphy. For example, CPT-based classification systems are based on behavior characteristics and are often referred to as a soil behavior type (SBT) classification. There are lots of CPT soil classification methods are available. LTRC has a software (Soil-CPT) that can classify soil based on CPT data. The goal of this project is to update the software with some recent CPT soil classification methods. Moreover, a new CPT soil classification method is developed and the method is compared with the existing soil classification methods. CPT is an excellent and cost-effective in-situ test for subsurface investigation and evaluation of soil properties. The main resolution of this project is to predict the shear strength of soil from the CPT data. The primary objectives of this research project are to collect available CPT data and soil borings near the CPT locations; compare undrained shear strength measured with the undrained shear strength predicted from CPT, and perform statistical analyses to evaluate the effectiveness of this study.
