Abuhena has been known to me as an employee of Apex Biofertilizers & Biopesticides Limited since 2016 as he joined our lab just after he had completed his MSc in biotechnology and genetic engineering at Islamic University (IU), Kushtia, Bangladesh. At beginning, he started working on Trichoderma, Mycorrhizae and a Bradyrhizobium japonicum inoculant for soybean. His intelligence, interest, creativity, motivation, and persistence soon became apparent. He was ready to tackle any research problem and take appropriate steps to develop beneficial microorganisms into commercial microbial inoculants. He has designed many effective procedures, media, and formulations. Abuhena is a natural leader. He has built teams that worked well. He initiated many research projects and trained many of our new recruits. A great deal came out of his efforts. A soybean rhizobium inoculant is ready for commercial use in Bangladesh. A potent plant-growth-promoting and biocontrol product containing B. subtilis is waiting for government registration. He has developed in-vitro and in vivo production processes for mycorrhizal bio-fertilizer formulations. Abuhena has been promoted and is currently working as a Senior Executive. He was part of a team that installed and validated a fermentation system that included a 3000L fermenter. He is proficient in plant assays, statistical analysis of experimental data, and scientific writing. He has gained experience in molecular biology techniques like PCR, DNA purification, gel electrophoresis, gel documentation, sequence analysis. He is aware of all lab safety rules and follows these precisely. He reliably maintains all lab facilities. I am satisfied with his performance in every way.
