Our research focused on drought tolerance of a native and invasive species in Santa Cruz, CA. Since this research has been going on for the last 4 years, the set up of each plot was completed. My responsibility was data collection. I would collect 100+ leaf samples a day, return to the lab, splay, and scan the samples. These were then placed into dry spaces to retain surface area. I also lead the testing to determine porosity of the soil by using a steel-ring infiltrometer. Our research focused on drought tolerance of a native and invasive species in Santa Cruz, CA. Chief Recruitment Officer
-
Jan 2017 - Jan 2018
While being Chief Recruiting Officer, it was my responsibility to plan and coordinate large-scale events to recruit 300+ women. It was my duty to plan training days, to prepare our organization for the recruitment process. This included how to properly greet, how to hold valuable, meaningful conversation, and how to create personal connections with people outside of our organization. I was tasked with communicating with higher-ups to ensure proper training and relay this information to our chapter. I worked closely with the other organizations on campus to form unity and a positive, encouraging environment for women to join.
