Under supervision, developed aviation effectiveness study using incident commander aviation performance surveys, historical fire occurrence data, and daily dispatch aviation logs. Performed statistical analysis using R to show that helicopters were generally more effective coincident with higher burning index values while tankers were more effective on fires with higher energy release component values. Earned Microsoft Introduction to Python certificate, developed automated script to generate daily 24-hour lightning strike map for statewide fire suppression and aviation reconnaissance operations. Supported ad-hoc executive, stakeholder, and media requests for data and GIS services. Created Okanogan County historical wildfire map for anniversary/staff ride activities, climatological lighting frequency map to aid resource prepositioning strategy, and progression map to assist GIS staff on the Williams Flats fire.
