Katie has spent years evolving her London based interior design practice and is a full member of the British Institute of Interior Design. She chooses to remain closely involved with her clients surrounded by her team. Her fascination with the background and interests of her clients mixed with the challenges and constraints of their properties, budgets and requests keeps her motivated and engaged. Her clients say: “She is unusually skilled at listening to and interpreting her clients requirements, and brings a strong but sensitive, clear but open steer to the projects on which she works.”Katie ran a successful residential property development company and construction company in London for before deciding to study interior design commencing her interior design business in 2003. Since that date she has won awards, is a lecturer at The Interior Design School, an interiors columnist and her work featured in national publications. Before her life in property Katie had two careers forming her unique approach and range of skills. Her first career as a nurse grew out of her natural desire to look after people and involved a huge amount of teamwork. She particularly enjoyed working with the elderly. Her popularity with patients was because of her fascination and patience to listen to their stories – probably to the detriment of finishing her rounds. A move into healthcare at BBC TV Centre led to a life in broadcasting as a BBC and commercial radio presenter, a world where everything is timed to the nearest second and every team member knows how to work under pressure. As a child Katie’s family moved multiple times and constantly renovated their own homes and so she was exposed to brick dust and building work from an early age. Since that time she’s been fascinated by houses and how people live and so it was not surprising that her journey eventually bought her to the business she runs today.
