President
-
Dec 2020 - Aug 2022
As the President of ESW it is my responsibility to motivate students and staff at the University of Akron to become more sustainable in their everyday lives. I must maintain a healthy relationship with the Department of Student Life as well as ESW HQ. I often participate in monthly calls with ESW chapters from across America to discuss tactics that improve operations. Within the Akron chapter, I am expected to run effective weekly executive meetings and lead tri-weekly General Body meetings for members. I am engaged in many areas within the club and assist other executive members to initiate events, respond to emails, create sustainable opportunities, and much more.

Vice President
-
Jan 2020 - Dec 2020
When I served as Vice President, my role was to manage the club’s email account which is used to send out important updates about club operations and meetings reminders/minutes. I presided in the absence of the President during General Body Meetings or other important events. As the VP, I assisted members of the executive committee whenever it was needed. It was my duty to organize tabling events that will engage future prospects of ESW, this includes Roo-Fest, sustainability fairs, and any opportunity that engages future collaborators or members.

Civil Division Intern
-
May 2020 - Aug 2020
As a summer intern for The Ruhlin Company, I observed different construction processes including concrete pours and demolition while working on site for the construction of a pedestrian bridge at Voinovich Bicentennial Park and bridge repairs to the Hope Memorial Bridge in Cleveland. I assisted with weekly safety inspections with items pertaining to equipment use, fire hazards, fall hazards, water safety/floatation device safety, etc. I also performed concrete and steel quantity takeoffs and kept an accurate log of these quantities using Microsoft Excel. My main duty was to collaborate with project engineers, superintendents, foremen, and crews to create three-week schedules, review timecards, run weekly man-hour reports, and compile pay estimates and expense reports. Additionally, I worked on several forms, estimates, and reports to submit to ODOT. At this position, I deepened my knowledge of the construction industry and also became more familiar with computer programs such as Excel and Bluebeam Revu
