As an English language teacher, I had the role of providing a structured and effective curriculum for each student. As English camps lasted two weeks long at a time, I ensured that I built upon each pupil’s level of understanding, making it a priority that they left with the passion and desire to learn more. When English classes would finish, I would organise, co-ordinate and lead activities in the afternoon for the entirety of the English camp, while also preparing them for the arrival of their parents and caretakers. As a camp counsellor I was responsible for groups of 8 children in the age range of 8 - 16. I ensured that each child had a fun, safe stay at camp. Responsibilities included monitoring meals, overseeing transitions to and from scheduled activities and facilitating and taking part in group activities. Flexibility was of great importance, as I would take part in various maintenance activities and community-based events on site.
