I work closely with the Chief of Surgery, Chief Administrator of Surgery and the Vice Chair of Quality to leverage all available data & technology to provide high-level Clinical Decision Support in order to drive Value-Based Care. My primary interest lies in the application of data science and advanced analytics to large surgical quality registries. My goal is to empower providers with data and to provide innovative analytics to achieve improved outcomes and enhanced safety for our surgical patients. During this time, I led our Johns Hopkins National Surgery Quality Improvement Team to achieve "Meritorious Status" for Quality Outcomes for ALL 3 years. In collaboration with the Director of Surgical Outcomes Research and the Director of Surgical IT, we created a Surgical Informatics Core to design & implement Healthcare Information Technology (HIT) solutions optimizing our EMR & informatics workflows to enhance research generation, quality reporting and administrative operations. In addition to my departmental responsibilities, I also serve on numerous enterprise-wide governing committees including – but not limited to – JHM Enterprise Data Trust, Surgical Quality Improvement Steering Committee, JHM Quality Analytics Team and the JHM Precision Medicine Analytics Platform (PMAP) workgroup.
