This invaluable experience allowed me to gain real world business experience in sales, to develop interpersonal skills that can be translated across different cultures, and to hone key leadership skills that will no doubt help me as my career progresses.   I worked part-time in the Recreation Centre for students, faculty and outside members at Young Harris College. The job consisted of signing in all attendees, starting and renewning memberships for those not associated with the college, and logging and processing membership fees. Working in the Recreation Center as well as studying and playing Soccer for Young Harris College in NCAA D2 has allowed me to sharpen necessary skills such as time management, prioritisation of tasks and adaptability.

  I worked with the A Level PE department, as well as closely alongside other departments, to support the necessary daily needs of A level students. This included assisting in and covering classes, running present and starting new extra-curricular activities, and helping in the community as a representative of The Sixth Form College, Farnborough. Being my first 9-5 job in my gap year before attending university in the US, this role gave me an interesting insight into the other side of the education system, and allowed me the chance to get a precious taste of the working world.

  At Waitrose, I worked across two separate sections: Ambient and Home Delivery. Ambient consisted of working on the shop floor to re-stack shelves and help customer's in any way possible to make their experience at Waitrose efficient and pleasant. Home Delivery consisted of selecting goods from the shop floor, loading the van, driving to the customer's house and escorting all products either to the door or inside the customer's homes, depending on their needs and preferences. Working across two sections has taught me above all to be versatile, a quality I am proud of and am very confident in. Working for Waitrose was a great experience for me, and allowed me to gain essential knowledge of the Supermarket industry on an operational level.
