  Responsibilities:  Assisting engineering team with alternative cost-effective material as part of value engineering.  Co-ordinate with Site, engineering, and planning for effective procurement.  Negotiating with vendors and sub-contractors for effective cost control.  Tracking and monitoring the procurement register to ensure that major materials are delivered on time.  Preparation of a subcontractor comparative statement – actual vs. planned in accordance with the project's scope of work.  Receiving vendor material submittals and submitting them to the client for approval in accordance with the project specifications.  Listing out the items of work for which inquiries are to be floated.  Floating inquiries for materials and sub-contracting items.  Calculating unit prices according to AFC drawings for budget zero cost.  Prepare a re-measurement of sub-contract works on a monthly basis for relevant packages  Identify variations to the original scope of work and quantify the same for recovery from the client. Raise variation order requests for approval by the respective engineer.  Prepare interim valuation and payment certificate for client and subcontractors.  Accurately measure, quantify and value the works on site on a monthly basis in accordance with construction drawings and specifications and agreed rates.  Maintain accurate records of the progress of the works done at the site by subcontractors on a monthly basis.  Assisting the project manager with a detailed cost analysis and value for the project's completion at the tendering stage.
