As a site manager, I manage the CLIA accredited Placentia location of WorksiteLabs, as well as the Southern California collection sites it caters to. My role involves the daily operations of the relevant sites, as well as providing updates to the VP of Lab Operations. These reports include efficiency, throughput and personnel updates. Furthermore, I maintain records and competency paperwork in accordance with CLIA and CAP standards, and conduct proficiency testing as needed. My role involves training and supervising lab technicians, and conducting hiring searches and interviewing and hiring new lab personnel. I helped implement changes in workflow to increase throughput by 400% and conducted the validations for automatic liquid handlers and thermocyclers. Lastly, I worked with quality assurance programs and presented KPIs at a monthly meeting to a board of medical directors and executives. Clinical Laboratory Lead

As a laboratory lead, I spearheaded the CLIA certified laboratory location of Worksite Labs. I manage the processing of Covid-19 Samples and assist with the implementation of three PCR Covid-19 testing assays (Atila Biosystems, Lumira Dx, and Lyra). Through implementations in workflow and efficiency, I helped the lab achieve a peak processing ability of ~4000 patient specimens within a workday, allowing the lab to guarantee accurate results within 12 hours, catering to multiple collection sites. I helped manage and perform both RT-PCR and NAAT tests using BioRad CFX and Thermo-Fischer Mini Amp thermocyclers. Further experience in Clade variant testing using the DetectX-Cv Assay designed by PathogenDx, involving RT-PCR and hybridization onto a DNA microarray as a research use assay in tracking novel variants of Covid-19. Laboratory Scientist

As a laboratory scientist, I primarily performed qPCR testing for Covid-19, as well as Antibody testing (IGG, IGM). I independently performed, pooling, sampling, extraction and qPCR using the Rotor Gene 6000 thermocycler for ~300-400 samples per day. I trained in the proper lab use of pipettes, centrifuges, vortexes and other relevant laboratory equipment. Furthermore, I performed other diagnostic tests including Respiratory Panels, Urinary Toxicology Screenings, and Rapid Covid Tests using the BioFire Film Array Torch machine. As for the administrative side, I accessioned the incoming samples using the inherent LIMS software and maintained records of the samples in preparation for extraction. I served as a tutor and peer mentor for students in an underrepresented school district where many students were first-generation or underprivileged.
