I choreographed a contemporary dance to "Waves" by Dean Lewis. I performed a minute of choreography at our Choreographer Showcase, then the dancers in the club were able to rank my dance against the other dances based on the amount they wanted to join them. I ended up getting 13 dancers, so throughout the semester, we met once a week in the studios to warmup, learn choreography, and practice choreography together. I had to breakdown my steps each week so that they were attainable by everyone as well as create formations and find costumes. I also was able to come up with a lighting plan for the stage and the lighting techs were able to put it into action. I love choreographing, so being able to see my progression from the idea to the final product was definitely worth it. Show less
