  I work as a special education teacher in 9th through 12th-grade special education classes. The disabilities that this job covers range from mild/moderate to severe. My job duties are: progress monitoring students, measuring student progress on IEP goals; developing IEPs and transition plans for each of my students, and making sure all portions of the IEP not completed by me were completed by the person assigned to it; leading IEP meetings, ensuring that IEP accommodations were implemented within general education classrooms, collaborating with general education teachers to determine which students need to be referred for special education, completing special education referral testing, updating parents on their student's IEP progress and behavioral concerns, collaborating with parents to address their concerns and to determine what was the best way for me to address their student's behavior, and training new special education teachers on how to develop transition plans.

As a part of the job I: developed and delivered lesson plans on the Woodcarving, Art, Leatherwork, and Basketry merit badges to children aged 11-17. Kept track of student data. Trained staff on how to implement lesson plans, keep track of student data, and manage behaviors within a class. Supervised staff lessons and provided feedback to them. Completed paperwork detailing each student's level of completion of each merit badge. Collaborated with parents and scout leaders on how their scout was progressing in my classes. Maintained equipment such as knives, leather stamps, art supplies, and basketry supplies in good condition. Filled out inventory on what supplies we had and what supplies we needed. Maintained a clean work environment. Became high ropes course certified. Supervised scouts and scoutmasters on high ropes courses. Completed daily camp maintenance tasks. Manually hauled dead trees out of the forest.
