  As the Special Education Discipline Coordinator for the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities Program in the Center for Child and Human Development at Georgetown, I help facilitate weekly learning sessions for LEND fellows and I participate in the advising of LEND fellows to complete program requirements and optional professional development opportunities. I assist the LEND leadership team in building relationships with community organizations where children and families are served and facilitating site visits for trainees at these at these locations. I describe and demonstrate how special educators work with related professionals on interdisciplinary teams with and on behalf of students who have disabilities or delays and their families to teach basic skills, adapt content, and implement accommodations that enable learners to participate in the least restrictive environments.
