Throughout my time at the Ohio State University I learned many things, but some of the greatest teachers I had where people I worked with while a student assistant for ASCTech. This position offered me a chance to take part in many aspects of the IT operations and infrastructure on a very large scale. Being able to coordinate, document, problem solve, and communicate effectively with a team was immensely important. I learned a great deal about Systems Administration, Cluster computing, asset management, and customer relations at a university scale. The main focus of my duties was to assist in the movement of any running servers throughout the university to the single location of the State of Ohio Computer Center (SOCC). Throughout this project I learned how to utilize virtualization technology, transfer asset ownership, physically move, rack, and cable manage servers in an enterprise environment. I also spent a great deal of time with a variety of aspects in the Unity compute cluster. Show less

Kids Supervisor
-
May 2017 - Aug 2017
As a Kids supervisor at a Four Diamond guest ranch I spent lots of time interacting with guests. Since the kids partake in their own ranch experiences, I was able to lead a wide variety of activities. Horseback riding was a large part of the summer. The horseback activities included trail rides, barrel racing and cattle penning. Alongside the for mentioned activities jobs like general horse care, tacking, and housekeeping are required for all staff. Half of the meals each week staff got to sit down and eat with guests, and strong interpersonal skills are expected by the ranch. Aside from horseback activities we also took guests on hikes, bike rides, campouts for teens, paddle boarding, and fishing. Show less
