  Researcher in Embedded Systems for Environment Monitoring, their design for robustness and low power consumption.My PhD is focused on increasing the energy-related reliability of Environment Monitoring WSNs in East African environments by creating innovative ultra-low power designs, new techniques for solar sizing and evaluating constraints for battery selection.The project funding the research is the WIMEA-ICT project (www.wimea.mak.ac.ug), in which we are deploying a full IoT ecosystem comprising of wireless embedded sensors, remote gateway devices and server-side applications. The engineering output of the research is a WSN-based Automatic Weather Station, with ultra-low power consumption, scientifically sized solar panels and selected battery technologies to ensure longer life than exisiting systems.
