Arsenal run a gap year program which enables young people the opportunity to learn and develop life skills, teaching and coaching qualifications as well as experience living and working in another country to develop life and work experiences. whilst on the gap year, I spent 4 months in London and 10 weeks in Ghana with, partner project, Alive and Kicking. My experiences and skills include: - Planning and leading coaching sessions at local primary schools. - Liaising with Project Managers in Ghana to develop key health skills and football sessions to improve awareness of HIV/Aids amongst young people in rural areas. - Adapting to a different way of living and working in a new country. In addition to the program itself, I had the opportunity to interview then Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck, about Ghana, his experiences of the country, and the importance of HIV and Malaria awareness.
