Liaison Producer

Working in either the Channel 7 or Channel 9 newsrooms, this role entails sole responsibility for ensuring the smooth and efficient transfer of breaking news footage and relevant scripts throughout the day. When at Channel 7, I am also tasked with greeting and setting up on-air guests before their studio appearances. These guests are usually key political figures, business leaders, analysts and renowned academics. Guests I have engaged with include John Howard, Tanya Plibersek, Peter Dutton and Mark Bouris among others. In this position, I have become adept at managing unorthodox hours with morning shifts beginning as early as 4:30am. Despite being the youngest to start in this role at age 18, within six months I was called upon to train other liaison producers.
