I worked directly with Max for 2.5 years through a high-growth period, product launch, and Series A raise. Their creativity and ability to build authentic community and connection with minimal resources is incomparable. As part of the four-person team that developed Tempest's recovery framework and strategic direction (from an 8 week educational product to a multi-level, annual membership), Max's strategic thinking and storytelling abilities were integral to securing our Series A round. As Engagement Manager, they were responsible for driving activity and connection within a growing community of over 4000 members, using their facilitation and teaching background to not just increase member engagement, but to improve member outcomes and bridge the content and community arms of our product in an intuitive way. Max is also a dedicated teammate, willing to jump in where they're needed, whether it meant writing copy, running an event, or responding to a community crisis. They consistently went above and beyond their role, holding trainings and development sessions for our internal community team, and meeting with Product and Marketing to create a cohesive experience for our members. Their commitment to DE&I work is apparent in everything they do and they co-led the initiative to add BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, 50+ and Parenting support groups to Tempest's event and community roster. They're truly a gifted community builder and would be an asset to any team.
