I reported to Maurits at Absa when he headed up the Strategy and Organisational Development unit for the Corporate and Business Bank. I am still drawing from the many lessons I learnt from him and am eternally grateful for the privilege to have been exposed to his thought leadership. Maurits embodies transformational leadership and have an uncanny ability to hold and manage complexity while balancing commercial, people and strategic interests. His ability to synthesise data and present it in innovative, change initiating ways have always made the difference for the teams he was a part of and set the units he guided apart from the rest. To top it all he is a master at designing and facilitating large group interventions that end up being seminal events in the memory of delegates and organisations.
