I worked with Mauricio for almost 3 years as we built out an idea from a very simple prototype to a full blown product used by tons of folks all over the world. He's a great developer, but more important, is a great team member who always brought an awesome attitude and a willingness to do whatever needed doing to get our releases built and shipped. I'd recommend him wholeheartedly and look forward to working with him again down the line.

Kinscape is a software which was build a long time ago (2014), and was not being actively developed anymore, until the main stakeholder decided to give some attention to it again, and then I was added to the team. It was running Rails 4, and pretty much everything was outdated. I managed to upgrade it to Rails 6 and bring all the gems to latest version. It was mostly a monolithic application with some AngularJS views for a marginal speed improvement, but now I'm moving everything to Vue.js, where my goal is to have the frontend running entirely off Vue, and leaving Rails only as the API backend. As of October 2019, I have deleted 74% of the old code (542688 lines), while adding 17139 lines, all while keeping the old features working, and also adding new features. Test coverage is now at about 90%, and key parts of the application which would take sometimes more than 10 seconds to load, depending on how much data was added by the user, are now loading in about ~700ms. I was brought into the Looper team to implement the the Amazon On-Demand Video related pages (title list, searching, updating prices and so on). The Looper platform has been developed specifically to help the Film and TV industry to See, Manage and Optimize their Video On Demand sales to stores. They also help stores optimize their consumer journey using Visual AI tools and insights. StudioBridge is a web application aimed to help studio owners (Music, Dance and Gymnastics) run their studios. It provides automatic billing, "touchless" student registration, and real-time scheduling. Working directly with StudioBridge owners, I have switched the entire billing third-party engine, developed several new features, and implemented a new design. Habit is an application that helps individuals generating a personalized nutrition, based on a user’s blood sample and personal preferences. In this application, I have developed the Kitchen management interface, which is used for managing recipes, ingredients, meal preparations and meal orders, all of that taking into account one’s nutrition needs. Daily meal preparations, packing and labeling, where the meal is then delivered to the person location, are all handled by this part of the app. Technologies used: Ruby on Rails, React, Bootstrap, PostgreSQL. Decisiv is a platform for Vehicle Maintenance Shops, to organize all the operations inside the shop. The moment the vehicle enters the shop, the vehicle data is entered on the application. In my time working with them, I have built a feature for suggested operations. Based on the mileage of the vehicle, brand, model and year, a series of operations would be suggested to the operator to perform on the vehicle. Technologies used: Ruby on Rails, MySQL. Integrated Chargebee.com into the site and handled general code cleanup and optimization. When I was approached by them, their code was not written the best way it could, with no automated tests whatsoever, and their magazine pages would take 5 to 10 seconds to load. I then added tests, optimized the code, optimized the database and the database queries, and implemented some caching, cutting the load times to less than 1 second in most of the pages. As part of the Everwise team, I have assisted in the development of the third version of their matching algorithm, which is used to match Mentors and Students based on skills/competencies and needs. Also helped them build several new features for their platform including a reporting screen with all the current mentorship relationships, fixed a bunch of bugs in the code and helped them make the switch from jQuery to AngularJS. I've applied to Toptal as a contractor developer, and soon started working for matched companies. The feedback they got from these companies about me was so good they decided to hire me to work on their platform. After dropping out of the core team due to timezone issues (I'm located in Brazil, while all the other developers were on Russia or thereabouts), I stayed on the platform as a developer working for Toptal's clients, and some of the other jobs listed on my work experience were met through Toptal's platform. As a member of the BitZesty team I have worked in a few good projects, like Feesability - a time tracking for lawyers, Content Platform - a fully customizable CMS, where everything can be changed from the admin panel (even the layout) and BoxedUp - an app for consumers to create product lists from their favorite e-commerces.
