These were early days in the industry which gave rise to the unique opportunity to be among the few in London who at the time were on the job creating the tools and exercises needed for effective execution and client-servicing. By the end of my tenure at WAS, this experience allowed me to package the day-to-day execution into sellable programs with concrete deliverables, measurable outcomes, at a profitable price point. I credit my experience at We Are Social for having profoundly impacted my entrepreneurial hunger. Being among the agency’s first 20 on payroll exposed me to what it takes to generate and manage exponential growth of the business. We Are Social went on to grow to 150+ colleagues across 5 offices around the world when I departed, to becoming among the first independent Social Agencies to truly go global, to then being acquired by BlueFocus (www.bluefocusgroup.com) in 2013. Clients: The Macallan, Jameson Whiskey, Glee (TV Show) - Shared responsibility of strategy development for all three clients, and served as point person for client servicing and reporting. - Executed daily participation on social platforms for all three clients. - In charge of pitching whisky bloggers specific to the single-malt category with creative ideas for content development and invitations to tastings produced by The Macallan. - Led the relationship building with UK movie bloggers and executed offline-to-online tactics leveraging social platforms tied to experiential events as part of the Jameson Cult Film Club movie screenings. - At the helm of weekly Twitter competitions that tied-in advertisers to Glee’s on-air schedule, as well as some of the UK’s first brand-hosted live-tweeting sessions. This demanded heavy doses of networking at London-based industry events and ongoing offline meetups, developing my professional network in the UK and EU, broadening my understanding and adoption of social platforms, and producing original content related to Social Media measurement. This period also coincided with the rise to mainstream relevance of Social Media, giving me a unique perspective into the disruption and agency-repositionings that occurred within the industry in London. - The following are some of the events to which I attended regularly: London Blogger's Meetup, Tuttle Club, Measurementcamp, LinkedIn London, Speed Networking with Oli Barrett, Internations.org, EYP London, ShoreditchTwit, among others. - Collaborated with what at the time were leading Social Media agencies in London on a client facing pitches and top-level conversation audits for a pan-European account that required knowledge of the Spanish language. - Conducted trainings sessions via Skype with ex-colleagues in Miami on how to incorporate Twitter as a tool for enhancing their ongoing PR activities, as well as for managing branded Twitter profiles for clients.
