These were early days in the industry which gave rise to the unique opportunity to be among the few in London who at the time were on the job creating the tools and exercises needed for effective execution and client-servicing. By the end of my tenure at WAS, this experience allowed me to package the day-to-day execution into sellable programs with concrete deliverables, measurable outcomes, at a profitable price point. I credit my experience at We Are Social for having profoundly impacted my entrepreneurial hunger. Being among the agency’s first 20 on payroll exposed me to what it takes to generate and manage exponential growth of the business. We Are Social went on to grow to 150+ colleagues across 5 offices around the world when I departed, to becoming among the first independent Social Agencies to truly go global, to then being acquired by BlueFocus (www.bluefocusgroup.com) in 2013. Clients: The Macallan, Jameson Whiskey, Glee (TV Show) - Shared responsibility of strategy development for all three clients, and served as point person for client servicing and reporting. - Executed daily participation on social platforms for all three clients. - In charge of pitching whisky bloggers specific to the single-malt category with creative ideas for content development and invitations to tastings produced by The Macallan. - Led the relationship building with UK movie bloggers and executed offline-to-online tactics leveraging social platforms tied to experiential events as part of the Jameson Cult Film Club movie screenings. - At the helm of weekly Twitter competitions that tied-in advertisers to Glee’s on-air schedule, as well as some of the UK’s first brand-hosted live-tweeting sessions. Daily Activities / Achievements*: - Managing client expectations in the context of the brand's first formal involvement and activation on the social web. - Point of contact for all day-to-day client comms which involved detailed descriptions on the where, why and how we were to carry out the brand's approach on the social web. - Principal admin of the Magners UK communities on Twitter and Facebook, which entailed building and fostering high levels of engagement in order to drive conversation, and conversion of users into brand advocates. - Building relationships with bloggers, site admins, as well as admins of existing online communities on Twitter and Facebook aimed at generating awareness of the brand's participation on the social web. - Incorporating existing and new Magners UK branded spaces into ongoing online conversations whenever applicable (e.g. Spotify, YouTube, Flickr, FriendFeed, etc.) - Sourcing and coordinating offline sponsorships opportunities aimed at generating high levels of brand related conversation on the social web (e.g. sponsorship of #cozytweetup). - As of 31/08/09, Magners UK on Twitter achieved double the number of followers compared to its closest competitor, a new follower per day ratio that was four times higher that it's closest rival, and an engagement ratio of 53.74% that compared favorably to that of its peers. - As of 31/08/09 Magners UK on Facebook yielded a fan conversion per day ratio that was higher than the industry average, supported strictly on high levels of admin generated and user-to-user generated engagement. *Full comparison analysis and links supporting the Magners UK activity on Twitter / Facebook available upon request.
