Fr. Maurice Nutt is an accomplished Spiritual Leader. He is a very effective communicator and is capable of winning over the most skeptical individuals. His message is always very clear and he has the unique ability to relate the most complicated topic to everyday living in such a way that everyone understands. He is a true "People Person" and immediately wins the love of everyone he meets. He is a great choice for his new position as Director of Black Catholic Studies at Xavier in New Orleans.

My wife and I met Fr. Maurice Nutt when we joined St. Alphonsus Liguori Parish (the Rock Church) in 1992. Fr. Maurice is a thoughtful person, a great leader, a wonderful preacher whose homilies are down-to-earth and meaningful to people of all backgrounds. A gregarious gentleman, Fr. Maurice exhibits joy in speaking with all of his parishioners and friends; when it is learned that he is going to be passing through St. Louis, there is great excitement by each person who knows him that they may be fortunate enough to see him or speak with him. It was Fr. Maurice who encouraged me to begin and build a parish archival collection over a decade ago. In addition, just as I love all of my fraternity brothers, I love my brother Maurice.

COPIOSA CARE: A Redemptorist Spiritual Direction Ministry Accompanying you through life’s realities You are not alone. Spiritual direction creates a safe, sacred, and confidential space to talk, be accompanied, attentively listened to, and enable you to listen to God. What is a Spiritual Director? A spiritual director is a companion who can journey with you as you listen to the voice of God. They can help you in your search for a better understanding of yourself and God. You will have the opportunity to reflect deeply on the experiences of your daily life. It will encourage you to grow closer to God. This ministry is open to all Christian faith traditions. This ministry is limited to those living in the United States. For an initial consultation please contact Redemptorist Father Maurice J. Nutt, a certified spiritual director at www.copiosacare.org, or (985) 224-7506 Located in New Orleans, sessions are held in-person for those fully vaccinated or virtually via Zoom. There is a pre-paid fee for each hour-long session. Copiosa means “abundant or plentiful.” Father Maurice hopes to provide abundant care as you walk your spiritual journey. Gracious spiritual accompaniment is a core value of my spiritual direction practice. As a spiritual director, my responsibility is to create a compassionate, sacred space to attentively listen and tend to the soul story that dwells within you. Together we will listen for where God is speaking within and around you, so as to draw your attention to the spiritual journey you are on. I seek to create a safe place for those facing situations that she or he deems challenging and requires caring support. I strive to be an evocative listener who asks deep and “open-ended” questions to assist the directee to clarify or hopefully resolve for themselves internal challenges. www.copiosacare.org Show less
