Working alongside Maura Hardman was one of the most rewarding experiences during my tenure as Facilities Manager at Lifelong AIDS Alliance. Her drive for team success and commitment to supporting our mission paired together in a unique way. Maura led her team by communicating expectations, fostering cross-departmental collaboration and engaging communities and new players. These efforts created lasting partnerships for Lifelong AIDS Alliance, well beyond our time there. Maura’s legacy is seen in the rebranding efforts that helped turn around fledgling events, sponsorship and vendor rapport that continues today and a donor base that was kept engaged during a transitional period in Development. Our Facilities and Events teams relied on each other and required strong leadership. Maura continually stepped up to assume additional responsibilities by leading event budget development and oversight and addressing emergent situations with ease and thoughtful execution. She continually catered to the world of fundraising and volunteer outreach with professional competence and charismatic ease. Our departments were lean and Maura addressed the challenge of undertaking large events by mobilizing a vast volunteer network, thinking creatively to hit high budget targets and relying on her strategic outlook, which never seemed to fail her. It is this success-oriented mindset that drives Maura to motivate her teams, inspire others and executing what, for us, were monumental endeavors.

I had the fortunate opportunity to report to Maura, who not only was a manager but also a mentor and coach. Her encouraging and supportive nature influenced me to always grow and strive for more in my work. I had the pleasure of working with Maura for four years at Whole Foods Market, collaborating on several marketing projects. I was always in awe of Maura’s creative solutions and her ability to get people on board with new ideas. What stands out most is Maura’s ability to juggling multiple projects at once with a calm demeanor and smile of her face. I’ve seen Maura build amazing community partnerships, increase sales by planning events and executing marketing strategies, as well as creating beautiful seasonal store decor. Maura earns my highest recommendation as I know she would be a huge asset to any team.
