The Ship for World Youth program is a highly ambitious peacebuilding and youth-development program sponsored by the Cabinet Office of Japan, fostering global citizens with versatile cultural skills. The program is a unique opportunity to develop leadership and cross-cultural management skills in a diverse and challenging setting, crossing borders and sharing a fantastic journey across Japan, Okinawa, Palau, Australia and Salomon Islands. The program starts with two weeks of pre-departure training in Japan; prefectural homestays, local program, political and royal courtesy calls in Tokyo, followed by onboard training between Jan 14th - March 2nd 2019. A total of 240 participating youth are given the joint experience of 33 days onboard the ship Nippon Maru, crossing the Pacific Ocean while expanding our world perspective and gaining global friendships.

Rotex is a non-profit youth organization working in close cooperation with Rotary International Youth Exchange. Our purpose is to aid and provide for exchange students both departing and arriving through the Rotary Youth Exchange Program. We do this by doing seminars and open discussions about possible challenges the exchange can bring as well as arrange appropriate activities and event for the exchange students. As previous president and current general board member I have developed my leaderships skills and gotten comfortable in a varied roll with the administrative, logistical and practical challenges of running a small organisation.
