Generation Pep is a non-profit organisation initiated by the Swedish Crown Princess Couple, with the vision that all youth in Sweden should have the ability to live an active and healthy life. The goal is to bring together companies, organizations and people in a joint effort to make it easier for children and young people to live a healthy life. My role from march 2023 will be as a project manager for our local and regional collaboration and I will continue to be project manager for "Pep Kommun" our municipality-based development project! Show less

    • Senior Advisor in Public Health
      • Nov 2015 - Feb 2023

I work as a Senior Advisor Public Health in the region of Östergötland. My focus both as a researcher and as a Senior Advisor in public health is the promotion of physical activity, with a major focus on sustainable social development and on strategic development within the system. I have a broad background in public organizations and many years in the research field. My research mainly involves intervention projects but always includes implementation in a real-world setting after the research project is finished. Just as the WHO in their vision for a more active world emphasize social norms and attitudes as well as the creation of active systems, including strengthened leadership, governance and multisectoral partnerships, we launched our strategy, to involve different stakeholders in society, some years ago. I am currently responsible for our regional strategy for promoting physical activity, 2016–2020 and 2020-2025. Ongoing work within our regional strategy involves interaction, networking and coordination of activities together with other stakeholder in society. Our ambition is to think in new ways, to be innovative and to find new solutions to old problems and to collaborate to reach our goal of a more physically active population. Therefore, among other things, we have created an informative website where we disseminate facts and knowledge, but above all, best practices and examples of projects that are under way from which others can learn and become involved in. The website is in Swedish and you can find it on www.sattostergotlandirorelse.nu. Show less

During the period August 2012- may 2014, I have worked as a Senior Officer in Public Health in Region Skåne’s Department of Public Health and Social Sustainability (Enheten för folkhälsa och social hållbarhet). Department work is divided into three key areas: knowledge development, knowledge collaboration and the spread of knowledge. Knowledge development’s main focus is using epidemiological surveillance to monitor the health status in Skåne’s population. The main focus of knowledge collaboration is working with stakeholders towards the common goal of increasing population health, focusing on equity. The department spreads knowledge through a variety of different communication channels. These include networking, thematic action groups, public health education for politicians, administering funding for local initiatives and developing of indicators for monitoring. Main roles as a Senior Officer in Public Health include monitoring and evaluation as well as regional collaboration. Monitoring work is focused on developing indicators used to follow-up and evaluate public health work effects. I am currently responsible for supervising the upcoming evaluation of Skåne’s public health policies, a process contracted out to evaluation company. Collaboration work includes partnering with The County Administrative Board of Skåne (Länsstyrelsen) in the fields of alcohol, narcotics, and tobacco and immigrants health; Scania´s Association of Local Authorities (Kommunförbundet Skåne) in facilitating a network of public health planners for Skåne’s 33 municipalities; NGOs such as Skåneidrotten (regional sports association), and international networks such as the two WHO networks Healthy cities and Region for health.
