Iceland Express was Iceland’s Low Cost airline, one of the country’s best known brands that won numerous consumer awards. During my term the company expanded under the leadership of CEO Almar Orn Hardarsson and later under the leadership of CEO Birgir Jonsson and CEO Matthias Imsland. When I started with the company it had only two routes between Iceland and London and Copenhagen.I participated with the Iceland Express team in establishing and developing new routes on mainland Europe. Frankfurt Hahn was the first one to be added and then routes were added one by another at a fast pace, Berlin and Friedrichshafen in Germany; Paris France, Milan and Bologna in Italy; Barcelona and Alicante in Spain; Zurich, Basel and Geneva in Switzerland; Luxembourg; Krakow and Warsaw in Poland; Rotterdam Holland. The job included negotiations and follow up of commercial related issues, management of contracts with suppliers and partners, key accounts management, and tour operator’s relationships.Reported directly to the CEO and worked closely with the Marketing Manager and the Yield Manager.
