It was a pleasure to work with Matthias and I would like to thank him for all his excellent contributions! He always had a very good overview of our service landscape and knowledge of our microservice architecture. Matthias worked closely with many colleagues from several of our development teams and was a long-time member of our on-call rotation, handling operational issues and incidents for multiple services. In a recent project, he was responsible for implementing secure tenant data erasure to meet GDPR requirements for one of our services. Matthias co-led a large infrastructure migration project where we migrated from our legacy Kubernetes environment to a state-of-the-art EKS-based infrastructure using Terraform as the IaC solution. He ensured a successful data migration with minimal downtime and no impact to customers.
Sven Wagner-Boysen
I had the pleasure to work with Matthias on multiple micro services, written in Rust, Kotlin and Java ranging from web-backend APIs to in-memory database engine specifics. It was great to see him driving the entire development cycle including definition of requirements, technical design and implementation in code, plus collaborating with frontend teams on integration aspects. His passion and curiosity for new challenges let him develop a DevOps mindset with comprehensive knowledge of service infrastructure and becoming a go to person for other team members on that subject.
