      Subcon are ecosystem engineers who have successfully implemented artificial reefs globally. I have contributed my coastal and marine science/biology knowledge to a project exploring decommissioning of offshore oil and gas assets, assessing the feasibility of implementing an Integrated Artificial Reef, augmented with purpose-built reef modules. I believe there is an opportunity to establish a new use case for decommissioned oil and gas infrastructure that has supported local ecosystems throughout its production life. Therefore, there is an opportunity to enhance the value of environmental, social and economic factors associated with artificial reefs.
