An EHS Advisor for Dornan Eng. mechanical, electrical and instrumentation divisions based in sites situated across the London area and most recently Sweden. The projects I covered varied in size and sectors, consisting of Commercial, retail, high end accommodation, rail, airport, data centres and biologics manufacturing facilities.Key roles for me as project EHS advisor is to assist in the coordination and to motivate site project teams to understand the scope of the works to be undertaken so that a concise and practical safe systems of work can be applied and continuously monitored in what is often a fast paced dynamic environment. This requires participation from senior management, supervision to front line operators to appreciate our project goals of safe and efficient work practices every day. Training and educating is a large part of my role I help to mentor, motivate and educate project teams in several high risks topics from working at height measures, safe material handling and movement to tailored behavioural based safety programmes while critically analysing data returns to track positive cultural change and modify existing safe procedures where necessary. This has so far achieved a reduction in site incidents, more opportunities for safety improvement and better worker engagement to build a more positive and proactive workforce on several of my projects. Safety Officer for Dornan Safety Team on the Blast Furnace 4 Rebuild Project Tata steel. Part of my role was monitoring project safe systems of work were in practice and applicable to an extremely dynamic working environment in close proximity to a 'live' Blast furnace site. Liaising with the clients safety team to ensure emergency procedures and plans were reviewed and safe access and egress to all the workforce in a high risk environment was assessed continuously. A key role was to ensure all gas monitors for our workforce was available and calibrated for a 24/7 work-shift and that all personnel were familiar with emergency evacuation strategies should alarms be sounded.
