Matthew put his heart and soul into RUtv. The station originated from a class project put forward by Matthew, and it was only with his determination and energy that it has become a success. Matthew's charismatic style brought together a large number of dedicated and excited students to produce shows in genres including comedy, lifestyle, sports and news. While not all of the shows were successful, the experience gained by the students involved was unquestionably valuable. RUtv allows students to practice their skills and implement their creative ideas without the worry that they may receive a poor grade. Because of Matthew's hard work hundreds of students - including myself -have had the opportunity to expand their potential and develop marketable skills. Thank you for that.

Mathew was at the forefront of setting up the university's first ever student TV channel - R.U. TV I'd never met him before but when I walked into his group to volunteer to be a part of this new movement at Ryerson University, Mathew seemed to be someone who had successfully spent numerous months trying to bring together like-minded people excited about his idea. He was about to implement and setup a TV channel where all content was ideated, produced and generated by students. There was so much work left undone and so much uncertainty ahead, but sitting in that room beaming with ideas and excitement, he seemed more calm and comfortable than anyone else. He's a leader who isnt bothered by uncertainty. He encourages ideas and appreciates initiative. I want to run my own news station someday and when I do, I'd be glad I worked with Mathew Calabretta.
