Over the seven years I’ve done business with Matt Wallace he’s impressed me with his positive leadership style, his work ethic and his openness to the need of customers. As a frequent customer of Berryline, a cherished place in our neighborhood, I have observed closely the healthy culture he has fostered. He’s really good at identifying, developing and motivating talent. Being an active investor in early stage ventures I interview hundreds of founders per year. In that context, Matt stands out for his leadership qualities and attention to market signals.

I worked for Matt at Berryline when I was fresh out of college. It was my first real job experience and Matt gave me the opportunity to prove myself with increasing degrees of responsibility. This granted me valuable insight into the operational intricacies of running an organization and I was impressed with his ability to prioritize and execute on business needs. During my tenure at Berryline I was also given the opportunity to work closely with Matt on a few strategic initiatives, including branding, social media marketing and, most importantly, diversifying the business into new areas (premium coffee and baked goods). His insights as an entrepreneur were particularly valuable here. I look back fondly on my time at Berryline as I continue to draw from the learnings his mentorship provided me.
