      I started at Perrin because I want to get into the beer industry that was booming in Grand Rapids. I thought it looked like a really cool industry to be in. Perrin brought me in as a line cook where I was tasked with pushing orders out for the Pub. I went on to master all the positions on the line, including cooking burgers to specified temp, learned to grill chicken, and expo entire orders to food runners. After mastering the kitchen at Perrin, I was promoted to a manager for 2 years. As a manager, I was tasked with the typical responsibilities of a line a cook, plus setting the line for my employees, cutting employees at the end of their shift, approving shift changes, making sure private event food was prepared and ready to serve for the event. I did the ordering for the entire kitchen, every shift I wrote a MOD Log for forecasting an upcoming week, and I was in charge of opening and closing the kitchen (either being the first person in or the last person out).
