Methodist Ladies' College (Melbourne) has an impressive 100+ year history of education in Melbourne. Striving to educate world-ready women, MLC has become a hallmark for innovation in education. Boasting over 60 subject choices and an extensive STEAM program as well as two magnificent outdoor leaning centers in Marshmeed and Banksia making the school unique amongst others in Melbourne. My roles included being a Classroom Mathematics teacher for the Junior Secondary School (years 7-8) and Middle School (year 9-10). As well as being a home group teacher (pastoral care) for a year 7 class which included running wellbeing sessions as well as communication with parents about upcoming activities or day-to-day management of students. I was also involved in the STEAM week planning team. Show less

    • Head of Year 10 and VCE Mathematics Teacher
      • Jan 2015 - Dec 2017

In the role of Head of Grade 10 I was responsible for 100+ students, this included academic or behavioural concerns as well as liaising with the schools wellbeing team. It also involved organising and leading incursions and excursions. The biggest of these being the annual Year 10 camp which involved the booking of accommodation and activities, filling out of risk assessment forms and communication of information to parents. In this role I was able to hone my communication skills with parents, students and colleagues as well as my ability to work well in a team. During my time as Head of Grade 10 I was also teaching both a VCE 3/4 mathematics class and a VCE 1/2 humanities class, demonstrating how organised I can be. Show less
